6x600 at Leary

Cool morning, started just before dawn. That first aerobic workout in chilly weather always gets me: teeth aching, lungs busting, everything working a little harder. Didn't help that I had been off the track for a while. 

2:06, 2:13, 2:09, 2:09, 2:09, 2:05. 

 

I forget to write up times from the recent local 3 mile road race: did an 18:30, good for 19th place or so. I was somewhere in the middle of a GI bug that had been turning me inside out for the last few days, but I rallied a bit and felt better during the race.

8x Pump Station Hill

 Hill Repeats. Cool and very beautiful early fall day.

I'm feeling a bit more spry lately. I think having the kiddo has helped, as there is less time for sitting.

10x400 track

Leary Field is finally open! Beautiful, brand new track. Huge upgrade from the Brandeis track, which it doesn't seem like they're really maintaining/using anymore. Weather was cool and misty, around 60, with a light breeze.

10x400 at sub-5k pace, with 200 jog recovery: 82,82,84,82,82,81,82,83,83,80.

7x600 track

 Ideal conditions today (cool, no wind). Although there was junk on lanes 1+2 in the back straight.

I thought I had gone too hard on that first one, but was gratifying to see my times come down as I warmed into the workout.

6x600 track

First time back on the track since the baby was born. Warm and extremely humid, with faint hint of smoke from the Canada wildfires. I have been doing hill sprints on my easy days, which feels like it's helped my form / muscle recruitment.
